The withdrawn products are completely safe and absolutely non-toxic. The withdrawal is purely precautionary and results solely from formal and regulatory reasons. We identified a technological non-compliance in a raw material supplied by our partner, in which irradiation was detected.

Irradiation sterilization, to which an ingredient of the above-mentioned products was subjected, is commonly used in the food industry to ensure optimal microbiological purity. The process itself guarantees safe consumption.

According to Directives 1999/2/EC and 1999/3/EC, only herbs, spices, and dried vegetables may be irradiated within the European Union. Mushrooms and mushroom extracts are not included on the list of products approved for irradiation sterilization. Under the applicable regulations, the production method used means that this raw material does not meet the criteria for market authorization.

Consumption of the standard daily serving of powder from the listed batches poses no health risk whatsoever and does not cause side effects, allergic reactions, or poisoning. These products also do not pose any risk to sensitive groups such as pregnant women, seniors, or children.

Although the current situation does not involve any health risk, at Osavi we are committed to full transparency and responsibility for our products. Therefore, we have decided, on our own initiative, to withdraw the formally non-compliant batches from the market.

Are the withdrawn products safe for health?

Yes. The products are 100% safe. The withdrawal is not due to the product being harmful, toxic, or contaminated. The irradiation sterilization process applied to the raw materials is commonly used in the food industry (for example, for spices or herbs) to ensure optimal microbiological purity. The process itself guarantees safe consumption.

What is irradiation sterilization? Is the product radioactive?

The product is not radioactive. Irradiation (ionizing) sterilization is a process in which energy passes through the product in order to eliminate bacteria, mold, and microorganisms (similar to pasteurization, but using ionizing energy instead of heat). The energy passes through the product, sterilizes it, and then disappears. No radiation remains in the product.
